Grand Gulch Mine

This abandoned copper mine was once the richest in Arizona. At the peak of production, the site employed nearly 80 people. Various mining buildings can be seen, all in varying stages of deterioration. Most of them were constructed around the turn of the last century. The site included a rock bunkhouse and a rock cookhouse. Mining continued until 1918. A fire in the 1950’s claimed most of the mine buildings, leaving only stone walls.
